A 15-year-old was found dead after a fire in Langley on Wednesday morning, with the cause under investigation and no signs of criminality
15-Year-Old Found Dead After Structure Fire in Langley
A 15-year-old youth was found dead after a structure fire in the Township of Langley on Wednesday morning.
Langley RCMP reported that officers responded to a fire near the 6500 block of 248 Street at about 6:57 a.m.
Firefighters from the Township of Langley Fire Department arrived to find the structure fully engulfed in flames.
“Tragically, a 15-year-old youth was located deceased inside the home,” said Langley RCMP.
“This is a heartbreaking tragedy, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time,” stated Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Langley RCMP does not believe criminality was involved.
“The BC Coroners Service and fire investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the RCMP added.
